About the Event
April is #NationalArabAmericanHeritageMonth (NAAHM)! This month has been formally recognized by President Biden, Governor DeWine, and state and local governments across the country. NAAHM celebrates Arab American heritage and culture and pays tribute to the history and contributions of Arab Americans and Arabic-speaking Americans. With that, AABAR-OHIO is proud to partner with the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) on a CLE program that will explore the history of the legal designation of Arab as "white" in the United States. Arab Americans are in a catch-22 – "white" enough not to be a minority and yet not "white" enough to be included in the mainstream. We will also discuss the legal and societal remedies to improve the Arab American experience in Ohio and the United States. Click here to register: https://lnkd.in/dUe3NpPQ As always, thank you all for your support. Sincerely, The Arab American Bar Association of Ohio
Please note that you must create a CMBA account (if you do not have one already) in order to register for this program. If you have any issues with registration, please contact Dominica Essi at dessi@clemetrobar.org and she will get you registered!
For non-attorney registration, please RSVP by emailing the CMBA to receive the zoom link (dessi@clemetrobar.org).
